Many people decry the litigious nature of our society, and I have counted myself among them.
But can the explosive growth in litigation be explained as one of the few remaining recourses left to an increasingly powerless citizenry? And if that recourse is ever severely restricted or taken away (because there's too much of it?), would citizen violence against corporations and governments inevitably follow?
We know we won't ever have a revolution, because revolutions do not occur among free citizens living under democratic government. But might we end up with an ever-growing pool of terrorists?
